He is a graduate of J.L. Mann High School. He continued his education at the University of South Carolina, and despite his physical limitations, obtained both an undergraduate and graduate degree in civil engineering. He was an inspiring example of will power and a positive role model for others with and without physical disabilities. He freely gave of his time acting as a spokesperson and volunteer for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Andrew was an avid fan for many types of sports and a loyal supporter of his alma mater ISC and of the Chicago Cubs.
Andrew is the much loved son of Wesley and Mary Frances Bailey. Surviving in addition to his parents is his sister, Cathy and her husband, Guerry Waters and their son, Jarred Waters; and sister, Teresa and her husband, Eric Warstler.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 3:00p.m. at the Mauldin United Methodist Church Spirit Center.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
