He was born June 22, 1886, in Rockingham County, and was a son of the late Thomas Ezra and Rebecca Maiden Hensley.
Mr. Hensley had been president of the New Hope Bank, and served as a director of the bank for 32 years. He also had been a self-employed contractor in Washington, D.C., and was a retired farmer.
He was a member of the Olivet Presbyterian Church and Masonic Lodge 13 AF&AM and was a charter member and former president of the New Hope Ruritan Club.
Mr. Hensley was preceded in death by his first wife, Lelia M. Young Hensley in March of 1951. He is survived by his second wife, Frances Owens Tate.
