PFC US ARMY WW11. Son of Mack Christopher and Lela Ann "Hopper" Hammett. He helped build the Alaskan Highway. He was a carpenter, farmer and horseshoer. He married Leatrice Robertson on July 14, 1946. They had one daughter Karen Hammett Kirkland Cook.
