She is survived by one son, Dr. Frank Strong, and a sister, Mrs. Caroline F. Lester of Seneca Falls, N. Y. Mr. Otis Strong, connected for so many years with our high school here, was also a son of Mrs. Strong.

Funeral services for Mary Foote Strong were held at Bradley Chapel, Tuesday afternoon, July 15, 1924, with burial in Fort Hill Cemetery.
She was born at Venice, March 21, 1834, and died June 24, 1924, at Lawrence, Kansas, in her 91st year. She was the daughter of Dr Jared Foote and Eliza Clark. She was of Mayflower stock on one side, being of the eighth generation in direct line from William Bradford, second governor of Plymouth, and of Puritan stock on the other, being of the eighth generation in direct line from Nathaniel Foote, who came to Massachusetts Bay with the great immigration about 1630 and was one of the founders of Wethersfield, Conn., in 1635.
She married on November 24, 1852, John Butler Strong of Scipio, N.Y. They lived in Venice, N.Y., until 1871. They had three children, Inez Eliza who died in 1860, Frank and Otis G., the last named formerly superintendent of schools in this city, who died in February 1923.
Mr. and Mrs. Strong removed to Moravia in 1871 and to Auburn in 1874, when Mr. Strong was appointed collector of internal revenue for the 24th district of New York by President Grant.
