Dorothy Mae Upchurch, 88, of Owensboro, Kentucky died Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born on April 20, 1922 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Vassal and Loeva Martin.
She was a music teacher for Allen Quinn Music and was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Derward Upchurch on September 26, 1972, by a son, Derward L. Upchurch on November 14, 1990 by a daughter, Marilyn Upchurch on July 17, 1947 and a granddaughter, Leslie Renee Upchurch in August 1998.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Upchurch (Sally) of Centertown, KY and Steve Upchurch (Lydia) of Albuquerque, NM; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services are at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2010, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro.
Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
