POTTER, Jean White, 97, of Salem, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2002. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa., July 6, 1905. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Potter. She is survived by one son, Thomas W. Potter, Jr.; three daughters, Jean Marie Potter Glover, Margery Potter Wilson, Virginia Potter Ford. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Miller and husband, Kenneth of Falls Church, Va.; one brother, J. Robert White of Buford, S.C.. Mrs. Potter was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Salem, the Fort Lewis Chapter D.A.R., the Scottish Society of the Virginia Highlands, the Blue Ridge Chapter, Embroiders Guild of America, the Southern Cross Chapter U.D.C., the Magic City Garden Club, and was a volunteer at Lewis-Gale Hospital since it opened in Salem.
