Burke Wills DRUMMOND was born May 16, 1909 in Auburn, New York to Richard Caldwell Steele DRUMMOND and Lura Belle WILLS Drummond. Burke graduated from Auburn Academic High School in 1927, Hamilton College (A.B.) in 1931, and Albany Law School (L.L.B.) in 1934. After passing the BAR exam, he immediately joined the law firm of his father and Joseph F.X. Iacovino, and worked there continually until the autumn of 1993.

He married first, Elinor (Eleanor) Christine TIPPING in Auburn, on July 21, 1934, and the couple had two daughters; Katherine Elspeth DRUMMOND (b. July 30, 1936), and Judith Ann DRUMMOND (b.January 29, 1940). Burke and Elinor separated circa 1944.

During 1943 and1944, Burke Drummond served as a 1st Lieutenant in the USMC, and spent time in the South pacific.

Burke married second, Marjorie Hope HUNTER, on June 1, 1948 in Syracuse, New York. The couple had two daughters; Anne Burke DRUMMOND (b. July 2, 1949), and Elizabeth Hunter DRUMMOND (b. April 14, 1957) and remained together until Burke's death at his home in Auburn on April 5, 1994.
