Burial was to be in Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson.
Mrs. Crain died Monday at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Columbia after a brief illness.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Rachel Herz of Columbia and Mrs. Maxine Alaniz of West Monroe; five sons, J. D. Crain and Robert Crain, both of West Monroe; Hayward Crain Jr. of Monroe, Jim Crain of Crowville and Velton Crain of Winnsboro; five sisters, Mrs. Hattie Carter of Winnsboro, Mrs. Ella Mae Jones of Columbia, Mrs. Ruby Courtney of Picayune, Miss.; Mrs. Thelma Lee Polk of Abilene, Tex. and Mrs. Elizabeth Smith of Bossier City; three brothers, J. D. Byrnes of Metairie, Robert Byrnes of New Orleans and Jessie Peavy of Bossier City; 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
