Mass of Christian Burial was August 31 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg with Father Tony Kroll officiating. Burial was at the parish cemetery.
John was born October 8, 1901, in Flensburg to Paul and Suzanna (Drosky) [Note: maiden name actually Dorowa or Droskowski - A. Super] Karpinski. He was united in marriage to Ann Super on November 12, 1928. Ann passed away on January 18, 1985. John farmed his entire lifetime in Flensburg. He was well-known for his supply of wood. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include his son, Fred Karpinski and wife Ethel of Flensburg; daughters, Mary Ann Smith and husband John of DeKalb, IL, and Georgina Peschel and husband Ronald of St. Paul, MN; sisters, Lucille Pacquin of Lamberton, MN, Ann Nickoforo of Minneapolis, MN and Adeline Stroschein of Minneapolis; 18 grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents (Paul & Susanna [Droskowski] Karpinski - added by A. Super), his wife Ann in 1985, four brothers and one sister.
