She was born January 13, 1915 in Jefferson, Greene County, PA; a daughter of the late Stella Ankrom.
Mrs. Crayne was a Licensed Practical Nurse and had worked at Greene County Memorial Hospital for ten years. She also worked at the former Youth Development Center in Waynesburg, and John J. Kane Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was president of the Greene County Division of Licensed Practical Nurse's Association of Pennsylvania from 1957 to 1959.
Mrs. Crayne enjoyed baking and cooking for her family, and gardening, around her home.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Waynesburg.
On June 6, 1936 she married Robert W. Crayne, who died March 29, 1992.
Surviving are a son, Larry R. Crayne and his wife Donna of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Linda Fowler and her husband Thomas of Jefferson; six grandchildren, Jennifer Madey and her husband Mark, David W. Crayne, Stephanie Crayne, Thomas E. Fowler Jr. and his wife Sue, David S. Fowler and his wife Stacy, and Kelly Willis and her husband Kevin; 9 great grandchildren, Brooke and Taylor Madey, Haley, Sadie, and Colt Fowler, Juliana, Dawson, and Caden Fowler, and Faith Willis.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road. Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday February 8, 2011 with the Rev. Thomas E. Fowler Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
