Cora was a daughter of John Wesley Decker and Sarah Elizabeth Rowland. She married Theodore Bruss Romans on January 8, 1912, and they ran a general store at Smyrna, Ohio for years. She was also a schoolteacher and a correspondent for The Freeport Press. While they had no children of their own, they did raise his nephew, Glenn Stine, son of his sister, Bertha Romans Stine. Cora was an excellent cook and baker and was beloved by her extended family. She died after a prolonged illness.
