William Griffiths Blount
William Griffiths Blount, formerly of Mineola, was born Jan. 23, 1920, in Dallas to Harold Bruce and Ida May Griffiths Blount. He died Feb. 10, 2011. He is survived by daughters, Nancy Blount-Keyser (Bill) of Cocoa, Fla. and Barbara Anderson (Bruce) of Allen; grandchildren, Alexander, Belinda and Henry. He served some 4 1/2 years in the Army during World War II and the Korean War. He graduated from Rose Polytechnic Institute, Terre Haute, Ind. (now Rose Hulman Institute of Technology). A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at 2 p.m. at St. Dunstan's Church with the Rev. T.A. Pantel conducting the service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Washington, D.C. Arrangements are with Aria Cremation Service, Dallas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to St. Dunstan's Church, Box 81, Mineola, 75773.
