Laura and her husband Richard Shelton "Dick" Law (1908 - 1 July 1953) were active in the International Woodworkers of America union.

Laura was murdered in her own home in Aberdeen, Washington and her murder has not yet been solved.

The modern day singer/songwriter Linda Allen wrote "The Ballad of Laura Law" about this true crime story.
