Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the West Side District Cemetery for Nadine F. Duke, 80, of Taft.

She was born March 15, 1908 in Denton County, Texas and died in a Bakersfield hospital Monday evening.

She had lived in Taft since 1948 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Taft. She was an avid artist and enjoyed oil painting.

She is survived by a son an his wife, two daughters and their husbands, a sister, 11 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.

Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home Thursday until 8:30 p.m.

Florence's father was Goethe Alva McGalliard. He died in 1914 and then her mother Effie married Morris Moody in 1921. McGalliard's memorial is not yet found. I don't know if Moody adopted the two sisters, but their birth father was McGalliard.
