JESSIE BAILEY
---Mrs. Charles Edward Bailey, who had been in failing health for the past few months, being bedfast for the past three weeks, died at her home northeast of La Plata last Saturday night, being at the time of her death, sixty-four years of age.
---The community in which she lived were saddened in learning of the death of this good wife and mother.
---Jessie Louisa Galloway was born January 6, 1864 at Deerfield, Illinois, the daughter of Alexander and Affie G. Galloway. In September, 1873 she moved with her family to Macon County, Missouri and resided two miles east of La Plata.
---On January 3, 1883 she was united in marriage with Charles Edward Bailey, they living for eight years on her father's farm and then moved to their own farm which was adjoining the home place on the north. This being her home for the past thirty-seven years. Four children were born to this union, one of which died in infancy, the other three are Mrs. Martin S. Logan of Winterset, Iowa, Kenneth Edward and Charlotte Opal, who, with the father, survive. The latter two reside at home.
---Deceased had a brother Edward A. Galloway who died in 1888 and a sister, the late Mrs. Peter Wolff, who preceded her three years ago.
---Besides the husband and children, Mrs. Bailey leaves many friends and neighbors who mourn her passing.
---Funeral services were held at her home Monday afternoon at 2:00, conducted by Rev. J.L. Shoemaker, pastor of the Christian Church. Burial was in the La Plata cemetery.
