Julia Floyd graduated from the St Joseph High School in 1899. Her senior year book states the following:
"Who We Are and Where We Are Going:"
"Julia Sarah Floyd"
'"Talking, she knew not why, and cared not what.'"
This blond-haired, blue-eyed maiden was born on May 4, 1880 in that dear old Saint Joseph, that beautiful city which "always has been, is now, and always will be" her home. She is ever of a quiet and retiring disposition, until our senior year, she brought herself before the notice of the class by her "original Latin translations."
Miss Floyd is very partial to Latin and we predict a brillian success if she could be persuaded publish an "original translation of 'Ovid.' But alas! The retiring disposition before mentions prevents her and in the near future a neat shingle bearing the words, "Miss Floyd's kindergarten" may plainly be seen above the door of a well known building."
