Gladys Burton, 81, of Fifth Street died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
A homemaker, Mrs. Burton was a member of Sixth Street Baptist Church and a former member of Church of God in Columbia, Ky.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Kenneth Lee officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Born in Columbia, Ky., June 20, 1924, Mrs. Burton was the daughter of Owen and Floria Burton Alley. She married William M. Burton July 5, 1938.
Survivors include sons, Herman (Roberta) Burton, Harold (Jeannie) Burton and Daryle Burton, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Timothy Mourey and Ramey, Gary and Troy Burton; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Sue Burton of Columbus; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on June 6, 1997; a son, Troy Burton; brothers, Holland Alley and Odie Burton; and sisters, Jewell Kelsay and Madeline Kline.
