Lillian Marlette Newlin
GRAHAM - Lillian Marlette Newlin, 77, of Route 2, Graham, died in a High Point nursing home this morning following several years of declining health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mahlon Newlin and the daughter of the late William and Hannah Zachary Marlette.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ruth N. Coble of Guilford College and Mrs. Helen N. Lineberry of Charlotte; five sons Hale Newlin of Greensboro, Barclay Newlin of Greenville, S. C., Wendell Newlin of Leaksville, James Newlin of Guilford College and David Newlin of Route 2, Graham; two sisters, Mrs. Alta M. Lindley of High Point and Mrs. Allene M. Braxton f Norfolk, Va.; two brothers, T. E. and J. L. Marlette of Route 3, Graham; and 16 grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at West Grove Meeting House in Siler City. Burial will be in the West Grove burial grounds. The body will remain at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home at Siler City until 10 o'clock tomorrow morning when it will be taken to the family home to remain until placed in the meeting house to lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family requests that those wishing to send flowers make donation to a charity of their choice instead.
