William Vanarsdel, born April 22, 1814, murdered Aug. 1, 1867 for his money by 3 murders; Erected by his brothers L. V. & A. V., markings indicate the headstone was ordered from Reynolds in New Orleans. William, a Planter, owned a plantation, now incorporated into the LA Army Ammunition Plant grounds, along the area of Doyline Road, Rt. 164, vicinity of restricted usage road, Victory Road. The Vanasdale cemetery is currently located there and is maintained by LAAP. The Grandison/Gronison and Canada Vanarsdale families are buried in this cemetery.
