Clara Ortmeier Monteforte Wanned
DODGE – Clara M. Wanned, 83 of Columbus died Thursday, Aug 17, 1989 at Columbus Manor. There will be a service Monday at Humlicek Funeral Home in Dodge followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Snyder with the Rev. Edward Schad officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday and 3 – 9 p.m. Sunday at the Humlicek Funeral Home in Dodge. There will be rosary at 7:30 and 8 p .m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Wanned was born Feb 8, 1906, in rural West Point, the daughter of Herman and Clara (Maly) Ortmeier. She attended Monterey St. Boniface Catholic School. She married Frank Monteforte Sept. 18, 1934, in West Point. He died in April 1961. She married Howard Wanned in West Point. He died in 1969. She had lived in Columbus since 1981. Survivors include three sons, Herman Monteforte of Sioux City, IA, Frank Monteforte of Vista, CA, Joseph Monteforte of Geneva; five daughters, Hermina (Mrs Roy) Jones of LaVista, Margerite (Mrs. David) Ellis of Chipley, TX, Marion (Mrs. Frank) Nadrchal of Duncan, Martha (Mrs. Joe) Siedlik of Bellevue, and Rita (Mrs. Alfred) Ferguson of TX. Two stepsons, Jim and Roger Wanned of Sioux City; 25 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren' one brother, John Ortmeier of Oakland and three sisters, Theresa Huhman of Columbus, Ida (Mrs. Clem) Peatrowsky of Ft. Collins, CO, and Verna Schneider of La Porte, CO. She was preceded in death by two husbands, three brothers, six sisters and an infant granddaughter.
