Kervyne Wicks, 81, of Ottawa died Saturday afternoon, February 12, at home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16, in the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa with the Rev. Nancy Rethford, Pastor of Epworth United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa where full military rites will be conducted. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Mr. Wicks was born on March 25, 1929, in Sisseton, South Dakota, to Ephraim and Ella (Seal) Wicks. Kervyne married Anna M. Foster on January 11, 1958 at Brookfield Presbyterian Church, in Marseilles. He served in the United States Air Force, 168th Bomb Squadron during the Korean Conflict. He worked at Libbey Owens Ford, owned and operated a motel in Cocoa, Fla., built the Coffee House Restaurant at I-80 and Marseilles Road. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 150 for many years and farmed. He was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church, Sons of Norway and the Moose Lodge.

Kervyne is survived by his wife, Anna, one daughter, Jean Ellen (Raymond) Evans of Romeoville, one grandchild, Jaxon Neal Lane Evans, one brother, Elwood Wicks, of New Lenox and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Ellen Marie Cook and one brother, Manley Wicks.
