Its companies were recruited from the counties of Fayette, Marion, Walker, Winston, and the upper portions of Tuscaloosa county. Yorktown, Williamsburg, Mechanicsville, Malvern Hill, Boonsboro, Sharpsburg, Fredericksburg, Atlanta campaign, Nashville. Surrendered at Greensboro, N. C.
