Geneva F. "Molly" Porter, age 92 of Russell, formerly of Elliott County, died Saturday, February 12, 2011, in Jo Lin Health Center in Ironton, Ohio.

She was born Feb. 22, 1918, in Elliott County, a daughter of the late Clifford Parkcus and Minnie Lewis Evans.

She was a former dietician at Lakeside Elementary. She was a Christian for more than 68 years and a member of the Victory Christian Center. She was a great homemaker, she loved to garden and can the fruits and vegetables she grew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gomez Porter Sr. in 1997, and a son, Gomez Porter Jr. and his wife Phyllis Porter.

Her survivors include two sons, James Andrew and wife Shirley Porter of Ashland, and Thomas and wife Wanda Porter of Big Brushy, one daughter, Barbara Ann and husband Larry Daniels of Russell, four brothers, Emil and wife Margaret Evans of Glen Burney, Md., James Lowell Evans of Bruin, Drew Evans of Olive Hill, and Bill Lee and wife Linda Evans of Louisville, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren,; special friends, Elizabeth Cains, Phyllis Mullins and others at Friendship House for the past two and half years which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at Victory Christian Center located 4.5 miles on Ky. 486 in Webbville, by David Webb and Tim Porter. Burial will be in the Porter Family Cemetery on Brushy Creek.

Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson and from 10 a.m. until service on Wednesday at the church.
