Lela Pearl Banks, daughter of Darius and Evaline Haney was born March 30, 1885 in Newton County, Ind., and died April 7 at the age of 84 years and eight days.

She was united in marriage to Clarence I. Banks February 20, 1907. To this union were born four children, one of them dying in infancy.

She was a member of The United Brethren church of Republic.

She was preceded in death by her husband, June 1941.

Survivors are: daughters, Mrs. Velda Millen and husband. Howard of Republic, Mrs. Vada Davidson and husband, Leanord of Lincoln, Neb.; son, Iiliff M. and wife Lena of Superior; brother, Ray Haney and wife, Hazel; sisters, Mrs. Emma Stromberg and Mrs. Bessie Lewis of Boulder, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Arthur and Mac and Zora McClure, Mrs. Floy Jones.

Funeral services were held April 10 at the Republic United Methodist church, with Rev. Louen J. Silsby officiating and internment was in the Union Valley cemetery.
