Mrs. Ellen Esther (Moore) Krueger, age 82 of St. Patrick, Mo died Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 7:05 a.m. at her home.

Ellen was born August 26, 1928 at home near St. Patrick, a daughter of Leonard Henry and Margaret Ahern Moore. She married Kenneth C. Krueger, Sr. in the Shrine of St. Patrick in St. Patrick, Mo on December 31, 1958. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2008.

She attended St. Patrick School and graduated in the class of 1946. She attended Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo and was a school teacher prior to her marriage. Kenny and Ellen were farmers their entire lives and received the Missouri Century Farm award in 2007.

She was Publicity Chairman for the Shrine of St. Patrick for the past 20 years. Many hours were spent giving tours of her beloved Shrine. St. Patrick's Day was the highlight of each year with all the envelope preparations, media interviews, and visiting with the hundreds of people who attended. She enjoyed all things Irish and her many friends around the world. Ellen was a member of the Better Home Builders Extension Club (for over 40 years) and a lifelong member of the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Her hobbies included researching genealogy and being organist at Mass. For many years, she was a project leader in 4-H and taught many children how to sew, knit, and crochet. She was honored for her many years of community service by being selected as Grand Marshall of the Old Settler's Day Parade, Kahoka, Mo in1998. She enjoyed listening to the Irish music of Daniel O'Donnell, especially the song "Isle of Innisfree". She enjoyed attending Daniel's concerts and the many phone calls she received from him. Ellen's pride and joy was her only granddaughter, Hannah and Jason Richmond, the grandson she never had.

Survivors include: children Kenneth Krueger, Jr. of St. Patrick, Pat Galle and her husband Jeff of Pittsfield, IL, Cyndy Wollbrink and her husband Bruce of Warsaw, IL, and Bobbi Krueger of St. Patrick; one granddaughter Hannah Wollbrink of Warsaw; two brothers-in-law Stanley Pepple, Sr. and Earl Watson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers Milton Moore, Marion Moore, and Eugene Moore and four sisters Mildred Henderson, Annabel Quesnel, Loretta Pepple, and Juanita Watson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church in St. Patrick, MO with Fr. Richard Frank officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday February 16, 2011 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, MO with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. The family requests that memorials be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at the Shrine of St. Patrick.
