She was born March 3, 1921 In Iredell County, N.C. She was the daughter of Harvey and Laura Thorpe Harris.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Elmer Glenn Faddis. Also, five brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memories are her devoted sons and daughters-in-law, William and Lois Faddis, of Daleville, Va. and James and Sue Faddis, of Galax, Va.; and the light of her life, her grandson, David Faddis and wife, Catherine, of Boston, Mass .
Also, surviving is one sister, Pauline Campbell, of Harmony, N.C. and Stephanie Cloud-Vass, goddaughter of James and Sue Faddis, Christiansburg, Va. Mrs.
Faddis was a faithful member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Hillsville Chapter #71 OES and a charter member of the Galax Women of the Moose. A special thanks to the nurses at Golden Living for the wonderful care she has been given the last three months.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Woodlawn United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 75, Woodlawn, VA 24381. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Woodlawn United Methodist Church with interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Vaughan Guynn Funeral Home in Galax, Va. Monday night from 6 until 8 p.m.
