Doris Allen Wyatt beloved mother, aunt and teacher, passed away February 13, in Houston. She was born on November 17, 1920 in Hillsboro, Texas to S. John Newton Allen and Irene Arnold Allen. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt H. Wyatt. She is survived by her sister Ruth McCracken of Magnolia and sons, Raymond A. Wyatt of Houston and Marshall H. Wyatt of Austin; grandchildren Vanessa Wyatt, Nathan Wyatt and Rachel Wyatt, nieces and nephews, Mary Helen, Patrice, Martha, Mike, Matthew, Barbara, Jo and Glen. Doris was valedictorian and graduated from Sidney High School in 1939 and then attended Brownwood Business School. She graduated from the University of Houston, Magna cum Laude, in 1963 and again in 1965 with her degrees in education. She taught elementary school in the Deer Park School District for 20 years. She and Hoyt shared an interest in learning, in history and in world cultures. They loved to travel and visited many countries on every continent except for Antarctica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Stephen Presbyterian Church, 2217 Theta St. Houston, Texas 77034 or Stag Creek Cemetery Association (c/o Comanche Funeral Home, 411 West Grand, Comanche, Texas 76442) would be welcomed. Services will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2:30 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be at Stag Creek Cemetery in Comanche, Texas at 10:00 AM Thursday, February 17.
