Bonita Gray Bertling "Bunny", died Sunday, February 13, 2011. Born August 24, 1945, Bunny grew up in Whitehaven and graduated from Whitehaven High School. She was Cash Management and International Banking Coordinator for Penn A. Kem where she had been employed for 45 years. Bunny was the President of the Board of the Quaker Oats Federal Credit Union and a past member of the Dyslexia Foundation Board of Memphis plus Auditory Supervisor for the dyslexic children. Bunny's best job was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves her husband of 44 years, Charles W. Bertling "Chuck"; her daughter, Heather Bertling Wilson; her brother, Georg R. Gray; her mother, Shirley Grantham Gray; and her two grandchildren, Trey and Anya Wilson. She is preceded in death by her father, Paul E. Gray. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 17 at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park East. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park East on February 18 with burial to follow in the cemetery located next to the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Dyslexia Foundation of Memphis, Memphis Humane Society, or a charity of your choice.
