John Ignatius Trexler, Txler, b. September 2, 1844, in Richmond, Va., m. Mary A. Elizabeth Simpson, daughter of James M. and Sarah Simpson of Buckingham Co., Va., on September 6, 1865. He served in both the Confederate States Army and Navy. It is believed that his employment at Tredegar Iron Works, which made armaments for the Confederacy, had influence on his dual military service. He d. on April 26, 1905 and is buried in Riverview Cemetery, Richmond, Va., Known children: Isabella,John Joseph, James Washington, Herbert Leslie (died at infancy), Charles Herdon, Nancy McCarthy, Bertha McCarthy.
