Marie Adeline Agnew, 96, of Erie, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2011.
Born on December 6, 1914 in LaSalle, Michigan, she was the daughter of Clarence H. and Stella (Navarre) Cousino.
On August 14, 1937 in Bowling Green, Ohio, she married Jared B. Agnew of Erie, Michigan. Sadly, he passed away August 5, 1985.
Marie and Jared joined First Presbyterian Church of Erie on October 9, 1977. Marie was a faithful member serving as an Elder. She was active in a variety of organizations within the church. In November 2010, Marie was presented with a certificate of Appreciation for her many years of service as Prayer Chain leader.
Marie enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. She attended Water Tower Park Senior Center at Luna Pier, Mi. She also did volunteer work with RSVP. For many years she sold apples at the family-owned Agnew Orchard and enjoyed visiting with the customers. Most of all she took pride in her family and all their accomplishments.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and infant daughter; four brothers, Woodrow, Wallace, Vincent and infant, Clarence H. Jr. Cousino; sister, Virginia Domansky; granddaughter, Linda Vance and son-in-law, Thomas Vance, Sr.
Marie is survived by four children, Judith Vance of Elmira, Mi., Jared L. ?Skip? (Julie) Agnew of Sylvania, Ohio, James (France) Agnew of Indianapolis, In. and John (Geraldine) Agnew of Erie, Mi. Also surviving is a sister, Roselyn Sagen of Monroe, eleven grandchildren, four step grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, twelve step great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 18, 2011 from 2:00pm-8:00pm at Bennett Funeral Service, 14567 S. Dixie Highway, Monroe, where funeral services will be held at 10:00am Saturday, February 19th. Pastor Brenda Wilkison will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
