W. R. Cothron Dies Suddenly
Mr. W. R. Cothron, a prominent and highly respected citizen of the Second District; died last Monday morning. He had been in usual health and gone to Cato to pay for some coal he had purchased. While there stating that he did not feel well, he started to return home in his buggy, and was found dead, seated in the vehicle just a short distance from his residence.
Mr. Cothron was 76 years of age and was one of the most substantial citizens of the county, having a splendid reputation for honesty and integrity. He was a Confederate Veteran and had an excellent record as a soldier. For many years he had been a consistent member of the Dixon Creek's Baptist Church and was also a member of the Masonic Order. He is survived by his wife, two sons; John and Gabriel Cothron, and a daughter, Mrs. C. D. Brooks, all of that section. His remains were interred Tuesday, services being conducted by the Riddleton Masonic Lodge, and Rev. C. C. Ramsey.
