ROUSEK-- Jack Walter , 81, passed away early Friday morning, August 1, 1997 at his home in Tulsa, OK. He was born in Muskogee, OK on July 4, 1916, the son of Walter and Mable King Rousek.

Commonly known as "Lyin" Jack because of his uncanny ability to tell stories, he served as a Cook in the Navy in World War II. Upon returning he was married on December 26, 1945 to Ann Murrell Edmondson in Muskogee. He was involved in various businesses including greyhound racing, K&S Drive-In in Muskogee, wholesale liquor sales and Lyin Jack's Daylight Donut Shop in Tulsa.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Marge Rousek Niblack; in-laws, Les Niblack, U.S. Congressman, Ed Edmondson, Governor J. Howard Edmondson of Muskogee and his wife, Secretary of State, Jeannette Bartleson Edmondson.

Survived by his wife of 51 years, Ann of the home; son, Jack Phillip; daughter, Leslie and Ronnie Byrum; sisters-in-law, Molly Edmondson and June Edmondson; uncle, Russell King; nephews and nieces, Diana Fine, Jim Drew and Brian Edmondson, June Edmondson Anglin, Jeanne Edmondson Watkins, Patti Edmondson Zimmer; cousins, Pat King, Sharon King Davis, Terri King Walman, "Jerry Boy" Rousek, Randy and Joseph Rousek, Jay Rousek, Nicol Rousek Simecek, Yetta Rousek Prentice and Derek Prentice; special friends, Mike and Dean Smith and Susie Klahr and a host of donut shop and lifelong friends and relatives much too numerous to mention.

Memorial service will be held at Skelly Drive Baptist Church, 8504 E. Skelly Drive, Tulsa at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 4 under the direction of Stanleys Funeral Service in Tulsa. Interment will be at Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of your choice or the American Cancer Society. Stanleys. (Tulsa World)
