Son of Alexander C. and Sarah Carroll Daves.
Pvt. James Carroll Daves, "Swan Creek Guards", Company A, 32nd Tennessee Infantry. Daves, a resident of Fayetteville, Tennessee, enlisted on 19 October 1861 at Camp Trousdale. He was almost immediately on sick furlough for almost a year, but then returned and was listed as present. However, by 28 June 1863 he was listed as having deserted. Daves survived the war however and lived until May 1875.
