Clyde L. Collins, age 81, of Pass Christian, passed away on May 9, 2010 in Pass Christian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Collins and Gertrude Collins; a sister, Lois Collins; and a brother, Donald Hugh Collins.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Norma Jean Collins of Pass Christian; three children, Eddie (Susan) Collins of Gulfport, Michael Collins and Sondra White, both of Long Beach; six grandchildren, Boe Collins of Long Beach, Gwen (Michael) Bateman of Gulfport, Christy (David) Peterson of Pass Christian, Mike (Angela) Collins of Long Beach, Brandi Miller and Karrigyn White, both of Long Beach; two step grandchildren, Amy (David) Lee and Mickey Anderson, both of Gulfport; six great grandchildren, Tyler Slocum of Long Beach, Michael and Maddie Bateman, both of Gulfport, Faith Peterson of Pass Christian, and Hunter and Dylan Collins, both of Long Beach; and four step great grandchildren, Sam, Molly, Lucy, and Amy Laurel Lee, all of Gulfport; and four brothers, Dayton (Dot) Collins and Earl (Grace) Collins, all of Pass Christian, Laverne Collins of Wiggins, MS and Martin G. (Jean) Collins of Long Beach.
A native of Long Beach, Mr. Collins moved to the country in Pass Christian at retirement. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Clyde was an avid gardener and loved tending to all of his animals. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. ""Doe"" was a special grandfather and his great advice will be missed.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19113 Commission Rd, Long Beach where family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens, Long Beach.
