Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Odell Austin were held May 11 at Dulany Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Runk, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Eagle Lake officiating. Burial was at Lakeside Cemetery in Eagle Lake.

Ethel Odell was born December 24, 1892 in Groveton to William Magee and Mary Caroline Bennett Magee. She married Tom Austin. She was a Eagle Lake resident almost 80 years and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eagle Lake.

Survivors include, daughters, Mrs. G. M. "Pauline" Clark and Mrs. George "Anna Mae" Brown both of Eagle Lake; son, Cardell Austin of Corpus Christi; brothers: Dewey Magee of Beaumont, Don Magee of Vidor, and William Magee of Eagle Lake. She also has eight grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a lot of loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, who passed in 1974. Pallbearers: grandsons and great grandsons.

Arrangements were under the direction of Dulaney[sic] Funeral Home in Eagle Lake.
