1 Jun 1920: Eben L. Fletcher died Tuesday morning at his home on Commercial Street after a long illness. He was born in China, Me., Oct 11, 1842, the son of Alfred and Eliza (Larrabee) Fletcher. He came to Belfast when a young man and has since resided here, where he was employed in the local shoe factory. He enjoyed the respect of a large number of friends. He is survived by his widow, formerly Miss Etta May Stover of Belfast, and two sons, Laforest Fletcher of Sommerville, Mass., and Ernest Fletcher of Belfast. The latter had assisted in the care of his father in his last illness. The funeral will take place at his late home Thurday at 2 p.m., with Rev. George C. Sauer of the Baptist church officiating.
