Mary Lilia Vialpando-Baca, 75, peacefully took the hand of the Lord on Feb. 15, 2011, with her beloved family by her side. She is now home with the loved ones who passed before her. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Joe G. and Sinforosa Vialpando; husband, Gilbert I. Baca Sr.; children, John, Gilbert Jr., Virginia, Greg, Louie, Patsy and Chanito; in-laws Jose and Pablita Baca; and grandchildren, Naomi Sanchez and Taylor Baca. Survivors include her children, Barbara (Al) Vigil, Mary (Tony) Gutierrez, Amos Baca, Solomon (Crystal) Aragon, Crystal Aragon, Steve (Monique) Sanchez, Joey (Lisa) Sanchez, Selena, Gavino and Sabrina Valles; sisters, Rafalita (Joe) Gomez, Sadie Vialpando, Gabby Davis and Amos Baca. She also had 21 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and godson, Michael Ellis Jr.; and numerous family and friends, too numerous to name. Mary loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed listening to music. She worked many years for Rosemount Museum and at many nursing homes and home health care offices. She will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her. Special thanks to Frontier Hospice, Interim Home Health Care and Fresenias Dialysis Medical Center for all of their passionate care of Mary. Visitation, noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday and funeral service, 10 a.m. Wednesday; both at Angelus Chapel. Interment, Fort Lyon National Cemetery, Las Animas, Colo.
