Mrs. Adelyn F. "Addie' Dawson, 83, of Clay, died June 22, 1993, at home. She was a lifelong resident of Clay County, a member of Church of God, Ovapa, the Golden Age Club and former member of Clay VFW Women's Auxiliary.

Surviving: sons, William Wayne Eagle of Mercer, Pa., Ronald Eagle of Crede; daughters, Evelyne McLaughlin of Procious, Charlotte Harding of Elkview; stepsons, David Dawson of Caligona, Ohio, Neal and Lakin Dawson, both of Marion, Ohio, Melvin Dawson of Phoenix, Ariz., Lloyd and Leonard Dawson, both of Washington state; stepdaughters, Emogene Walden of Mill Creek, Donna Smith
of Charleston; sisters, Eva King of Procious, Ruby Samples of Clay, Delphia O'Dell of Ovapa; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren.

Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Ovapa Church of God, with the Rev. Harry Dobbins and the Rev. Richard Talbot officiating. Burial will be in A.J. Samples Cemetery, Procious.

Addie married William Bircher Eagle in Valley Fork, Clay County, WV on Sept. 29, 1934. She later married Joe W. Dawson on April 8, 1964 in Clay County.
