YOUNGSTOWN - Agnes M. Smik, 80, of the city's west side, passed away late Wednesday evening, Feb. 16, 2011.
Agnes was born Nov. 8, 1930 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John and Mary Gazi Smik, and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a 1948 graduate of Chaney High School, attended business school, and worked in the payroll department and cost department at Automatic Sprinkler in the 1950s. She had also worked for Republic Steel and for Youngstown Steel Door.
Agnes was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Youngstown.
She leaves two brothers, John (Nancy) Smik of Plant City, Fla. and Joseph (Sandy) Smik of Boardman; a sister, Theresa (Andrew) Swantek of Boardman; and several nieces and nephews.
Agnes will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A sister, Margaret Rogers, is deceased.
Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 613 North Lakeview Avenue in Youngstown, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
