Alice Louise (Nettles) Smith , 61, of 257 Pine St., a day-care provider for the Springfield Day Nursery, died Saturday at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Hartsville, S.C., she lived here for 40 years. She belonged to the South Congregation Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses for 30 years. She leaves her husband, Roy T. Smith of Springfield; two sons, Michael of Springfield and Roy T. Jr. of Schenectady, N.Y.; four daughters, Joy Smith , Sherry Jones, Michelle Hart and Dawn Smith , all of Springfield; a sister, Rebecca McDonald of the Bronx, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The memorial service will be Thursday evening at Kingdom Hall, with burial at the convenience of the family. Henderson Funeral Home is in charge.
