WILSEY GREAR
---Wilsey Lee Grear, a lifelong resident of La Plata, died at a Kirksville hospital at 8:00 Monday morning after a 10 month illness. He was forty-seven years of age.
---Grear was born in La Plata on December 19, 1906, the son of Edward and Martha (Pruett) Grear.
---He attended the La Plata High School, graduating in 1925.
---On June 18, 1927, he married Hazel Marie Mercer at Kirksville with Rev. W. R. Gattis officiating. Three children were born, Ronald Blaine Grear of Chester, Illinois, Mrs. Neal Matticks of La Plata and Wilsey Gene Grear of Lexington, Nebraska.
---Other survivors include his wife Hazel; four sisters, Mrs. Claudia Gasaway of Chillicothe, Illinois, Mrs. Etta Fulmer of La Plata, Mrs. Inez Mott of Stockton, California and Mrs. Lucille Speer of Anchorage, Alaska; one brother, Ora Grear of La Plata and six grandchildren.
---Grear was employed as a welding foreman on the Santa Fe Railroad.
---He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
---Funeral services will be this afternoon at 2:00 in the Presbyterian Church with Rev. Harold Johnson officiating. Special music will be by Mrs. Harold Johnson and Mrs. Fred Hudson.
