Born on the Ridge of Rough and Tough at the head of the Big Sandy River in a barn during a flood in Eastern Kentucky,Doug was a son of the late Elijah and Josephine Davis Spagrks. He was a U.S.Army veteran. Doug enjoyed deer hunting, fishing,gardening and especially metal art,making beautiful yard ornaments.
Surviving are his wife, Paula Rhoad Sparks;and his daughter,Cori Sparks and her partner,Matt
Kuphaldt of Seattle,Washington.
