CLARENCE L. BROWN
Clarence L. Brown, 67, World War II Army Veteran, who formerly resided at the Vermont Soldier's Home, died Wednesday after a long illness.
The son of Edmond C. and Ethel (Remington) Brown, he was born in Bennington Feb 8, 1902. Before entering the Army, he was employed as a disc sander and after his return from service he was a chauffeur.
Mr. Brown's military duty was the First Service Command of the Army from August 1942 until Jan 1, 1945.
A brother, Edmond, died earlier this year. Survivors are one sister, Mrs. Mildred White of Bennington; two nephews, Roger E. White of Bennington and Howard White of Bowling Green, Ohio; grandnieces and grandnephews.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 10 am at Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home with the Rev. H. Glenn Payne, First Baptist Church pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, North Bennington.
There will be no calling hours at the funeral home.
