Anna Abate, 100, of Milltown died on Friday, July 11, 2008, at St. Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick.
Born in Boston, Mass., she lived in Medford, Mass. before moving to Milltown, 42 years ago.
While living in Massachusetts she was a seamstress in Boston. Mrs. Abate was a member of Milltown Senior Citizens. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and making old things new again. She loved her family very much and passed down her traditions to them.
She was the daughter of the late Pietro and Caterina (Inzana) Previte; widow of Nicholas Abate (d. 1989); predeceased by her daughter Catherine Frost (d. 2004); two sons-in-law, Ronald Frost Sr. (d. 1995) and Anthony J. Bruno (d. 2002), and three sisters, Frances Abate, Mary Mazzini, and Natalie Saia.
Survived by two daughters, Marie Bruno of Milltown and Edith and her husband Peter Bruno of Bridgewater; two brothers, Frank Previte of Woburn, Mass. and Anthony Previte of Rhode Island; a sister, Carmella Saia of South Boston, Mass., and 10 grandchildren, Patricia Ann Radziewicz, Anthony, Peter, and Nicholas Bruno, Ronald and Kevin Frost, Cindy Deinzer, Diane DeVoe, Michael Bruno, and Stephanie Lebiak, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9:15 a.m. Monday, at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N. Main St., at Riva Avenue, Milltown, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church, North Main Street, Milltown. Entombment is at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
