John M. Carpenter Dies on Bunners Ridge. The West Virginian. Fairmont, WV. Sat., Dec. 28, 1918.
John M. Carpenter, aged 41 years, son of David C. and Martha Jane Keener Carpenter, died last evening at his home on Bunner's Ridge after an illness from influenza. The deceased is survived by his wife, who was formerly Miss. Nancy Vincent, and nine children, namely, Clyde Carpenter, of Mud Lick Run; Mrs. George Frazier, of Prickett's Creek; Lena, Gertrude, Paul, Amos, Lelia and Violet at home. The deceased was an elder in the Fairview M. E. Chruch on Bunner's Ridge and funeral services will be held there on Sunday morning at ten o'clock by the Rev. Curtis. The body will be buried in the Fairview Cemetery by undertaker Jenkins. (Note: he is buried in the Hayhurst Cemetery.)
