Brother Eugene Clark, age 86, of Paducah went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at 8:55 p.m. at Western Baptist Hospital.
The Lord called Brother Clark into the ministry at the age of 23 and he faithfully served the Lord Jesus Christ for 64 years.
During his time on Earth, Brother Clark has led many lost souls to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. He had numerous men to surrender to preach the gospel under his ministry and faithfully supported missionaries throughout the country and world.
After pastoring several churches in western Kentucky, Brother Clark was pastor of the Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Warren, Mich., for 27 years and the Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah for 23 years where he remained a dedicated member.
Brother Clark is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Armona Clark; three sons, Ron Clark of Paducah, Kent Clark of Troy, Mich., and Phil Clark of Danville; two daughters, Donna Smith of Danville and Rhoda Crice of Cunningham; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Baker Clark; his mother, Mellie Clark; a grandson, Stuart Ward Clark; and a brother, Royce Clark.
His family is strengthened by his devoted love for the Lord Jesus Christ and the faithfulness he showed in his life throughout his years here on Earth. A good summary of his life would be, He was a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
A celebration of Brother Eugene Clarks life will be on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Faith Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Jerry Asberry officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Faith Missionary Baptist Church, where a special service will be held at 7 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Faith Missionary Baptist Church Missionary Fund, c/o L.J. Andrews, 330 Massac Church Road, Paducah, KY 42001.
