John E. Weyer died Friday morning in Kansas City, Kansas of typhoid fever, after a thirteen days' illness. The body was brought here for burial on Sunday. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Robert D. Bussey at 2 p.m. at the Congregational church, the Woodmen taking charge at the grave. Mr. Weyer had been in the commission business in Kansas City, Kansas for about three years. Previous to his going to Kansas City he was a resident of our town for three years and was in the stock business, shipping to Kansas City. He was a son of William Weyer, one of the pioneer residents of our county, and spent his early life on the farm. He leaves to mourn his loss, a wife and two daughters, four and seven years of age. Mr. Weyer was nearly thirty-seven years of age, a member of the I. O.O. F. and Modern Woodmen lodges. In the latter he carried a $2000 policy, showing his thought for his loved ones when his own strong right arm should no longer be able to provide for them. He was in the livery business in Bern before coming here, and there met the lay who became his wife. Mr. Weyer was considered an energetic, straight forward business man.
