The Huntsville Times, Wednesday, January 27, 1993: Lacey’s Spring. Mrs. Lela Elizabeth Sharp, 83, of Route 2, Lacey’s Spring, died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Melvin Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery. Mrs. Sharp was a native of Tennessee. Survivors include six sons, Hugo Sharp, Coleman Sharp, Bill Sharp, James Sharp, Johnny Sharp and Donald Sharp, all of Lacey’s Spring; three daughters, Dorothy Thornberry and Oma Sloop, both of Chicago, and Anita Floyd of Guntown, Miss.; two brothers, Charlie Mason of Plevna, Ala., and Eli Mason of Huntsville.; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Visitation will be today from 3 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
