Well Known Traveling Salesman Drops Dead in Bathroom Soon After Attending Wedding.

John W. Morrison, aged 56 years, a well known traveling salesman, dropped dead in the bathroom of his home at 1702 Elizabeth avenue last night about 11 o'clock. Mr. Morrison had just returned from the home of R. B. Orr, near Newell, where he attended the wedding of a niece. He remarked that he was not feeling well and went into the bathroom. His death occurred almost immediately.
Funeral arrangements were not made last night.
Mr. Morrison has resided in Charlotte for the past 20 years. For several years he has been the traveling representative of the Charlotte Hardware company and is well known through North and South Carolina, commanding the esteem and respect of scores of friends.
Mr. Morrison was born August 16, 1861, within the bounds of Rocky River congregation, in Cabarrus county, and came to Charlotte when a young man, engaging in the grocery business and later was employed by a hardware merchant. He and Miss Mary Morris, of Philadelphia congregation, were married May 31, 1899. She and two children, Elizabeth and John R. Morrison, survive him, and also the following named brothers and sisters, Lafayette Morrison, of Harrisburg; Columbus Morrison, of Spencer, and Mrs. R. B. Orr, of Sugar Creek. His father, Dwight Morrison, is an elder of Rocky River church.
Funeral services will be held at the residence this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Other arrangements were not announced.
