Frances Hunter Byrd, 98, of Sanford, died Feb. 8, 2011, at Central Carolina Hosp.
Mrs. Byrd was born to the late John Guthrie Hunter and Lorena Yarborough Hunter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thesley Worth Byrd; and a grandchild, Andrea Michelle Foil. She was active in Holly Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Thesley Alex Byrd and wife Shelia of Sanford; two daughters, Mary Byrd Harrington and husband Larry of Clinton, and Frances Byrd Foil and husband Horace of Broadway; and four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Feb. 11 at Broadway United Methodist Church.
